“If you my lady, there ain’t gon’ be no bitches at your neck because they going to already know what’s up from the jump,” I told her matter-of-factly.
She stood there for a minute, trying to register everything that I just told her. I pulled my phone from out of my back pocket and handed it to her.
“Here, put your number in. Don’t put no bullshit ass number either, cuz I’m going to call to make sure it’s really yours,” I said, watching her put in her number.
After she locked her number in my phone, she handed me back my phone and I dialed it to make sure hers rung right in front of me. When it did, I smiled and told her we could go back inside. We walked back in, and I watched as she walked over to the table with her girls. My niggas was making all type of howling noises at me. It’s one thing when you know your girl the shit, but it’s another when all your niggas know that she the shit too. I could already tell her little bad ass was going to be a damn problem.
“That’s you, nigga?” my cousin Mark asked me as I followed Breesha with my eyes as she made her way back to the table to be with her girls.
“Yeah, she just don’t know it yet,” I responded.
Chapter 6: Imani
When Breesha came back to the table, she was smiling from ear to ear. My cousin looked so happy. While she was gone, Nae told me that his name was Dontae and I thought that they would make a cute couple. I wanted to talk to one of the other dudes, but I was scared as fuck to say something. I didn’t want to tell Nae because knowing her ass, she would scream the shit out in front of the whole restaurant, so I would rather tell Breesha and that way, she could tell Dontae and Dontae could deliver the message to his homeboy.
“Who is the one standing next to him with the Nautica on?” I asked Breesha.
Both Nae and Breesha looked, trying to figure out which one it was that I was talking about.
“The one that just drank the water,” I said, smiling. Even the way he drank the water was sexy as fuck.
“Oh, I see him. He’s fine too. But I don’t know who he is though, because he wasn’t with Dontae that night at the club,” Breesha said.
“You want him?” Nae asked me.
“I mean he’s fine, but I don’t know if I want him,” I lied, knowing damn well that I wanted that nigga.
“Let me know, I’ll text Dontae and ask him for you,” Breesha said after the waitress sat our food in front of us.
“Okay, ask him,” I told her excitedly.
After five minutes of silence, Breesha finally looked up from her phone, “It’s his cousin, his name is Rashard.”
“Hmmm Rashard, I like that,” I smiled.
“Look at this hoe,” Nae said to Breesha, laughing at me.
After we finished eating, we paid and was out the door. Dontae called Breesha over, and I told her to tell him that I wanted to talk to his cousin. She smiled at me and told me okay. I was being real brave tonight. It’s like I wasn’t afraid of getting my feelings hurt or anything. I was ready to see what Rashard was about.
Rashard
I spotted lil mama before she even spotted me. When I saw my cousin walk over to their table, I looked and there was three beautiful women sitting over there. I already knew which one he was going to holla at because he had told me. I was glad, because I wanted the little one sitting there. She think I didn’t see her, but I saw her from the corner of my eye, watching me. When Dontae’s lady walked over and whispered something in his ear, and he pulled me to the side to tell me, that only put the icing on the cake. I knew lil mama wanted me, but I wanted her to tell me herself. I smirked as I made my way over to her. It’s funny because I was never the type to want to be in a serious relationship. Hell, a nigga was young, 23 years old to be exact, and I wasn’t thinking about settling down anytime soon, but the way lil mama was eye fuckin me from across the room had a nigga about to reconsider my options. I could look at her and tell that she was a good girl, a good girl that wasn’t ready for the type of drama that I was going to bring her way.
“Let me holla at you for a minute lil mama,” I called after her as I followed behind her and her girls out of the restaurant. She turned around and faced me and damn, she was even more beautiful up close.
“I heard you was checking for a nigga” I told her, looking her in her beautiful face.
“Yeah I am,” she shot back, which caught me off guard because she looked so innocent. I could tell that she had an attitude on her just like her cousin, because Dontae had already told me about Breesha and her slick ass mouth. It’s cool, because I could handle that attitude of hers. I liked a woman who wasn’t scared to speak her mind. I didn’t want no bitch that was going to allow me to walk all over them. I wanted a woman that wasn’t afraid to speak up, and that would check my ass when she needed to.
“Well what’s up?” I asked, accepting her challenge. I wanted to see if she was going to be bold enough and let a nigga know what was on her mind.
“I thought you were cute, so I told my cousin to tell Dontae to tell you,” she said, never losing eye contact with me.
“Come on now lil mama, you could have did the shit yourself,” I said, stepping closer to her.
“You know what, never mind then,” she said, walking away. I guess she didn’t like the fact that I had called her out on her shit.
I didn’t mean to come at her like that, but I wanted her to tell me herself, and not go around relaying messages and shit. That shit was for little girls. I let her ass walk off. When she got the courage to tell me herself, I would be right there waiting. Yeah, I wanted her ass too, but I wanted her to tell me that shit herself and not through other people.
