We don't stay there for long. Only a few minutes.
But I still feel like he's mine.
Like I'm his.
Like the entire fucking world is perfect.
Chapter Thirty-Two
Cam
"I can't wear this." Sienna holds her short purple dress against her body.
"Stay naked."
"Are you going to fuck me again?"
"Eventually."
"Now?"
"No."
"Then no deal." She pulls the dress over her head. Checks her reflection in the bedroom mirror. The one she was staring at when I fucked her last night.
She remembers. It's in her eyes. In the flush of her cheeks. The heave of her chest.
I don't usually care if a woman remembers me. With Sienna, I need it. I need to know I'll be in her head, forever.
It's all I can have. The spot as her first. As the man who introduced her to sex.
Usually, I avoid the responsibility. I don't want to fuck someone up the way I was fucked up.
"I want to show you New York, but I'm reasonable." She smooths the dress. Turns to check out her arse.
Or maybe that's me.
That dress is short and she's not wearing anything under it.
"I'll stay here all day if you make it worth my while." She shoots me a coy look. "And I'll stay naked."
"Answer is still no."
She makes a show of pouting. "Then I'm going to show you New York. At least, a few New York highlights." She steps into her wedges. "What do you like?"
"Fucking you."
She smiles. "Besides that?"
"There's no besides that." I motion come here. When she does, I wrap my arms around her. Pull her into a slow, deep kiss.
She groans against my lips. "Cam." Her hand slips under my jacket. Her fingers dig into the fabric of my shirt. "You just said you wouldn't."
"Not now."
"Could you?"
"Could I?"
She looks up at me. "Could you go again so fast?"
A laugh spills from my lips.
"What?" Her brow furrows. "What's funny?"
"You, asking that."
She shrugs if you say so. Steps backward. Finds her purse. "It's a perfectly reasonable question."
"It is."
"Then why is it funny?"
My laugh gets louder. Fuller.
"That's just cruel." She shakes her head, but she's smiling. "Okay. Fine. Laugh. I'm going to find clothes. And then I'm going to take you somewhere that will make you fall in love with the city."
"I'll buy you something."
"An entire outfit?"
I nod.
"I can change at my apartment."
"No."
"Because of Ty?"
Yes. If he sees her walking into her apartment in last night's clothes, he'll get ideas. And he'll ask me first.
I can keep this to myself. But if he asks point-blank?
My poker face isn't that good.
But why focus on that? "I want to buy you something."
"Is this some rich guy kink?"
"If that's how you see me buying you lingerie."
Her eyes light up. "Oh. Okay. I accept your offer." She holds out her hand. "So let's go. I need more coffee."
"You had two."
"One and a half." She motions let's go. "Unless… you are ready to go. Right here, right now."
Again, I laugh.
This time, she folds her arms. "What is so funny?"
I offer my hand. When she takes it, I grab my wallet and room key, move to the door. "Most women don't ask."
"Why not?"
"I don't know, but they don't."
"Because men get upset? They don't want to accept their physical limitations?"
My laugh gets louder.
"What? That's what happens!"
"That's why I'm laughing."
"Oh. Good." Her fingers curl into my jacket. "So that's what's funny? That men are idiots?"
"More or less."
"And you…?"
"Do I accept my physical limitations?" I open the door for her.
She moves into the hallway. "Do you?"
"Usually." I lead her toward the elevator.
"Not always?"
"Sometimes, a proud woman dares me, and I see if I can make it happen."
"Could you go again so fast?"
"It's been twenty minutes."
"I said so fast!"
I laugh all the way to the elevator.
She steps inside. "Is it really that funny?"
"Yes." I hit the button for the ground floor then I bring my hands to her hips. Lift her. Set her on the railing.
"It's mean laughing at me."
"I know." I bring my lips to hers.
She tugs at my jacket as she kisses back.
Fuck, she tastes good. Like coffee and sugar and Sienna.
I want to be here forever, in this tiny space, only the two of us, and all the desire between us.
No complications. No confusion. No fucked-up thoughts in my head.
But that isn't the case.
Even if she weren't Indigo's sister, even if Ty wouldn't kill me if he found out, even if she weren't a teenager with her entire life ahead of her—
I'm a mess.
She's not.
The elevator dings. The doors slide open.
But, still, I kiss her like there's no tomorrow.
Someone clears their throat.
She pulls back. "Shit."
I help her down. Nod to the older couple standing in the lobby with takeout coffees in their hands.
Sienna offers them an apologetic shrug and follows me to the street. She stops in front of a black town car. "Don't tell me."
"Of course."
"Overkill."
It is. But then I can't risk spending a lot of time outside in her sister's neighborhood either.
