“Left shoulder, anterior,” he said. I tore the guy's shirt with my bare hands. Sure enough, he had the ugly-ass tatt.

“Should have got a bullseye target tatt instead,” Blade said. “Then we could really have some fun.”

“You take his feet,” I said to Knight. “I’ll get his head.”

Together, we lifted him out of the trunk of his own car. Blade grabbed the shovel someone had tucked there beside him. We walked straight into the woods with him dangling like a hammock between us.

“He’s unconscious, but still breathing. You can do the honors if you’re up for it. Either that or we can bury him alive. The bastard deserves it after what he did to all those girls,” Blade said.

Girls like Sky.

My blood pressure rose at the thought. It wasn’t unusual for my patch brothers to save a perp like this for me. I had a reputation. I also had an insatiable bloodlust when it came to people who hurt kids. I was alive, I’d made it to my adulthood. My way of giving thanks was making sure that other disadvantaged kids like me would stand a fighting chance. Pigs like this destroyed their dreams. I destroyed them so kids could grow up and dream.

Blade had already dug the hole and it was at least six feet deep. Knight and I put him down and I pulled out my gun and brought it down to his temple.

“Any last words before we send you to hell?” Knight asked him and spit. “Take his blindfold off, Patriot. He should look someone in the face while he atones for his sins.”

I ripped the blindfold off the guy and threw it in the hole.

He coughed on his own blood, his teeth were absolutely pink as he gnashed away.

“She’s pretty,” he said. Turned his head and coughed more blood. It was coming out of his broken nose. “Your girlfriend,” he scratched out. “I’m glad we got a lot out of her while we could,” he rasped.

My blood ran cold.

I put my boot on his throat and held my piece steady to his temple, my finger poised on the trigger. I pushed down on his windpipe and his eyes bulged in his head.

I stared at the ugly ass tattoo.

It was a buzzard.

Vulture.

“I wouldn’t leave her alone if I were you—” I shot him before he could finish.

I turned.

I ran.

I jumped on my bike and flew into the night.

If they hurt my Sky, I would destroy their whole world.

Chapter 12

Sky

I ran into the blackness until I hit a wall, a literal wall that came up so fast and unexpectedly that I nearly rendered myself unconscious with the impact. I collapsed to the floor hitting my head hard on the tile. The wind was knocked straight out of me and my lungs felt expanded to the maximum while my chest ached for air. I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t cry, but I knew I had to take action and think fast. The scrappier side of me, the Sky who could cope and survive in a crisis kicked in. I pushed myself up with my hands, turned my head away from the wall to see if he was coming.

A bright white light was sweeping the hallway. I rolled as it came near me, out of its reach.

He’d picked up my phone. He was using my own fucking flashlight to find me.

He was snickering to himself like a madman as he staggered closer and closer to me. I forced myself silent, begging my panting breath to cease and my clanging heart to settle.

“I’m. going. to. be. a. little. late. Daddy,” he said menacingly.

He was texting on my phone. I ground my teeth with hatred for him that rose like sharp venom in my throat.

“Wait, delete. Not daddy, probably dad. You’re not twelve anymore, that’s for sure.”

It was Vulture. I dug his name out of the deepest recesses of my mind. It struck me as strange because he’d never been a leader, a lowly henchman at best, but here he was infiltrating the club. He obviously knew my story. I’d been twelve when they kidnapped me from the Greyhound bus stop. My mom had fallen into using again and Grandma sent me money to take the bus down to Florida and stay with her until mom could get clean. She never did. And I never made it on that bus.

He scanned with the flashlight again and I tucked my body, making myself as small as I could be into the corner.

“Sky light, sky bright, first sky I see tonight,” he sing-songed. I had to keep myself from throwing up in my mouth. “Patriot, I’m fucking one of your Valor brothers right now. Taking his big hot dick in my mouth.”

He was typing again, I was going to be sick.

“Should I send this, Skylar, or should we do it first and take some sexy photos to show him? I have some great old pics of you on my phone. I could send him those? What’s he into? He doesn’t seem like the gang-bang type.”
