We run down the hill with every last bit of energy we have. I feel evil breathing down my neck, but I plow forward. I know the Devil is reaching out with his claws to pull us back in, but I refuse to let it happen. I don’t look back in fear of what I will see.
I just hold on to Ember and emerge from the flames.
The snow bites at our faces, and yet we power on. With my wife by my side, I know we are close. We are so close to breaking free. One foot after another.
