“Will do.” I hang up the phone, look at my schedule for the weekend, not seeing anything big, and start plotting. If there’s a will, there’s a way, and I’ll get Serenity to her next paid promotional campground. It just might be a little bit different than what she’s used to.
That brings me back to the computer. I go on an outdoor website, see what we’ll need for a weekend away. Hell, I even add it to my shopping cart. If my plan is good for Serenity, I’ll order it and have it delivered before Friday comes along. I do a few things in the office, getting things together for the next two days. Hopefully, the dipshits out in the field don’t break anything else and it won’t require me to go all the way out, load it on a trailer, bring it back in, fix it, and then haul it out to them. Sure, they keep me in the black, but Christ Almighty, either I’m out at Dan’s jobsite, or he’s lugging something here. I almost miss the quiet days when I was building up my business. Shit, I say that now, but I sure as hell didn’t back then. Dan mentioned they’d be bringing in one more piece of equipment that only needs some minor repair, so while I wait on that, I may as well go work on Serenity’s Airstream until it’s time to close up shop.

After Greyson left, I really had to get my rear in gear. I started the sheets, jumped in the shower, made fast work of cleaning up, though my hair was full of knots, and that took for-freaking-ever. By the time I was clean—though, I swear the scent of sex still lingered on my skin—my hair was air drying, clothes were in place, and the laundry was swapped over. I was ready to get this show on the road. Plus, the hours were dwindling down to the time Greyson would be back home.
I grab my purse and the keys he left me, though I won’t be driving, no way. I mean, it was nice of him, but seriously, walking is just fine for me. After yesterday’s extravaganza on the highway, I’m kind of excited to have my feet planted safely on the ground. I didn’t tell Greyson just how frazzled I was after what happened on the road here. Let’s just say everyone was lucky I was able to only get away with what damage I did have and not flipping over four lanes of traffic. That thought alone has me doing a full-body shiver.
The best thing about built-in GPS on my phone is that it tells me where I need to go, even in this small town. How I’ve made it this far, and in the type of industry I work in without getting lost time and time again, well, I have modern technology to thank for that.
My phone blares out that my destination is ahead on the right, so I turn it off. No need for me to look like the tourist I am. Along the way, I took in the scenery, palm trees swaying in the breeze, hearing the ocean even though I’m a block away from it. I continue on my jaunt. I’ll pick up a few things that won’t be too heavy to carry back to Greyson’s place. I looked through his kitchen before I left, making sure he had the essentials. The only thing I didn’t see was anything baking wise, which was probably good for him because baking is not what I excel at. No matter how many times my mom, grandma, or aunt tried to teach me, I was a lost cause, but hey, I excel at cooking, so there is that. I walk towards the store. It’s on the smaller side. The door automatically opens. I grab a basket. If I grab a shopping cart, I’ll fill it up and then have no way to lug all the groceries back to Greyson’s. A fun fact on Florida that I read up on before landing here—apparently, if you take the shopping cart off their premises, it’s a misdemeanor. Could you imagine calling collect to your parents and needing bail for a shopping cart? That’s definitely not happening to me.
“I’m thinking fajitas,” I mumble to myself, heading for the meat first, then I’ll make my way towards the condiments, tortillas, the vegetables, and then saving the best for last: dessert. I don’t understand why dessert isn’t first. Dinner should always be last, at least in my book. Heck, sometimes ice cream is acceptable in any shape or form. It doesn’t take me too long to get everything I need, then it’s off to find cake, and not just any cake either. I have a hankering for red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.
