“Sounds good. Thank you again Mr. Jackson.”
“It’s Evan, please. You don’t have to call me Mr. Jackson,” I think I’ve said that a hundred times to him, yet he still insists on being formal.
“I’ll work on that,” he replies.
“All I can ask from you. I just got your email. I’ll get back to you shortly,” I tell him with terseness in my voice. I want this day over and Harlow in my arms.
“Talk to you soon,” Diego replies and I hang up. I pull up his email and read through the contract. All looks good, maybe this place is more reputable than the other. I sure hope it is. Leaving Harlow is not something I want to do right now. In fact, it gives me a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I electronically sign the contract and send it back to Diego and then get back to the rest of the bullshit. I hate doing it, but, knowing it may help make my day go by faster, I return to my work.
Not being able to concentrate is a real pisser. I spin my chair around and sit and stare at the ocean and the waves crashing in the distance. I’m lost in my thoughts, when I hear a knock and turn around and see Harlow.
“Hey, they let me go early. I’m going to head home to shower and change before we go out. Is that okay?” she asks as she walks towards me.
“Yeah ‘Lo. Go get ready and then we’ll go out,” I don’t really want to leave her side, but I know she’ll want to do a few things. I stand up from my chair and meet her halfway to kiss her.
“See you soon,” she says with a mischievous smile.
“Soon,” I growl as I watch her leave.

Harlow
I have a surprise up my sleeve, it took some finagling, a whole lot of schedule changing, and I know Evan needs to go to the East Coast. It took some fast talking and smoothing of schedules, but I was always helping others when they needed their shifts changed.
When Daniel told me Evan may have to go out of town, I made it to where I could go with him. I’m off for the next three days and Daniel, being the answer to all my questions, had two plane tickets ready and waiting for me when I was in the break room and clocking out.
I rush home and into the house, hop in the shower doing everything that needs to be done. I’m packing my bags when the doorbell rings. I’m still running around with my hair up in a turban type towel until I’m ready to tame the wild mass and a towel wrapped around my body.
“Coming,” I yell out and rush to the door with my suitcase being dragged behind me. I know it’s Evan and I can’t wait to see his face when I tell him the news.
“Baby,” he says with a grunt when I open the door.
“Hey, give me a few minutes and I’ll be ready,” I respond back giving him a quick kiss on his jaw and turn back to head towards the master bedroom.
“Harlow, Baby. I can’t take you out tonight. I thought I could handle the shit that’s going down on the East Coast, but it’s only gotten worse and I’m needed over there,” I can see the stress written all over his face.
My smile grows bigger, because he really has no idea. I tell him, “I know. Daniel told me. He also made sure my schedule is clear for the next few days, and sent me off with our plane tickets. He was grumbling about you being useless out there and being nothing, but a bear unless I went with you. So here’s your surprise!” I exclaim.
I see his grin coming out along with his dimple, “Fuck, ‘Lo. This is the best news I’ve had today. Get dressed, before I take you right here where all your neighbors can see.”
“You can come in while I finish,” I tell him.
“No can do, Baby. I come inside this house with you in only a towel, we’ll never leave and the thought of having you to myself for three whole days, I can’t fucking wait,” he says.
I run back into the house throw my hair turban and towel off. Grab some panties and a bra, my favorite jogger style pants, a loose v neck top and put them on. Then instead of taking the time to actually do my hair. I throw it up in a mess bun, grab my sunglasses, purse, and keys then head back towards Evan.
This is going to be the perfect getaway. It’s just what we need. Our schedules completely suck and even though he’s going to work while we’re away. I know it won’t be like how he works here and having my hours conflict with his.
