The mistress was wearing the belt and that huge, fake cock protruded out from her groin. She smiled and purred, “Are you ready for your next lesson? Would you like to know first-hand what it feels like to be raped?”

“No Mistress. Please. I’m so sorry.”

She smiled and actually leaned down and kissed him softly on the lips and then she hissed, “Hold onto something tight my pet…I’m about to take your cherry.”

Chapter 16

One Year Later

“Are you nervous?”

Dad and Lucas had met at the Starbucks down the street from his and Reagan’s new penthouse apartment for coffee the morning of the wedding. Reagan hadn’t been home in two days and missing her was making him grouchy and borderline depressed. She was staying with her friend Belinda that she had met once she was free from her brother’s stronghold on her. She was finally free to enjoy her life and as pleased as Lucas was to see her so happy, he still missed her every second they were apart. In his defense, these two days had been the first time they had been apart at night in a year. In her defense, today was her wedding and she needed time to do her girl stuff and get ready without him over her shoulder.

“Not really,” Lucas told his father.

It was kind of true. He wasn’t nervous about being married to Reagan, for that he couldn’t wait. He was a little nervous about being a good husband and eventually a father. He wanted to give Reagan the world, the best of everything and sometimes he worried that he couldn’t be what she deserved.

“She loves you son. I can see it in her eyes every time she looks at you.”

Lucas smiled. “I know she loves me. I feel like the luckiest man in the world.”

“You are,” his dad smiled, “Not everyone gets a chance to even meet their soulmate much less spend the rest of their lives with them.”

Lucas nodded. “I thank God for that every day, Dad. Can I ask you a question, though?”

“Of course.”

“I know that Mom wasn’t your soulmate. I know that because you loved Carey for so long. But you didn’t cheat on Mom and I don’t believe you would have even if Carey would have agreed to it. So, you must have loved her too, right?”

“Of course I did. I loved your mother very much. I met Carey when your mother and I were going through some hard times. Maybe that’s why it was so easy for me to fall in love with her. Or maybe, she was my soulmate and I just met her too late. But whatever it was, I wouldn’t have ever hurt your mother that way. She was an incredible woman and I wish she was still here to see you marry Reagan. She would have been so proud of you…of both of you.”

A sad smiled marred Lucas’ face. His mother’s death had been hard on him, but his father had always been his rock and his presence in his life had helped him through it.

“I wish she was here too. I am so grateful that you are. It hurts that Reagan’s parents didn’t get to see her walk down the aisle. In case we haven’t told you, we are so grateful to you for stepping up and offering to walk with her.”

“Reagan has thanked me profusely too many times. I’m so happy and proud to do it.”

Lucas sighed. “So, when you and Mom got married and started a family, were you ever worried that you wouldn’t know what you were doing and you’d screw it all up?”

Rex smiled and took a sip of his coffee before saying, “Pretty much all the time.”

“That’s reassuring,” Lucas laughed.

“Well, you’re proof that I didn’t screw it up too bad. Look, son, everyone wishes that marriage and parenthood came with a step-by-step manual, especially type ‘A’ personalities like you.” He grinned at his son and went on, “But since they don’t, all you can do is your best every day. The most important thing is love and as long as you have that you have everything you need.”

“I hope so,” Lucas agreed. “Reagan’s finally recovering from what her brother did to her. All she’s ever wanted was an intact family and I want more than anything to give that to her. I just want to do it right.”

“I have faith that you will,” Rex grinned. They drank their coffee in silence for a few minutes and then Rex asked, “Speaking of the devil, have you two had any more problems with him?”

“Not for a while,” Lucas said. His father had hit on the biggest worry he had of all…Aiden Kade and what the crazy bastard might do next.

After the night that he and Reagan left Aiden with Mistress Lasinda for his ‘punishment’ things in their lives were chaotic, to say the least. The first three weeks were wonderful. They made love every day and night, more often than not in new places and they spent nearly every second making up for the time they lost with each other because of Aiden. They felt like they could finally breathe without his constant presence in their lives.

During that time, they had Reagan’s things moved out of the mansion in La Jolla and into the family home that Lucas shared with his father. Lucas was sure Aiden would begin liquidating the assets he had left as soon as he got back and he wanted to be sure that Reagan had what she wanted before he did that. Reagan only wanted what was hers and a few boxes of photos and mementos that her mother had kept up in the attic. She had broken down at the fact he had nothing so she agreed to allow him to strip the house of what he wanted. This would give him a fresh start. Lucas didn’t understand why she did it because the bastard didn’t deserve anything but he knew deep down she still felt sorry for him. Reagan was just happy that she didn’t have to live under that roof with a monster any longer.

Just as Lucas suspected, as soon as Aiden returned to La Jolla he almost immediately began selling off the family assets. He had three cars, a jaguar, an SUV and a BMW. He kept the BMW and sold the other two, and then he started on the antiques and art inside of the house. There were Persian rugs worth thousands and original paintings worth tens of thousands. Reagan had taken what she wanted of her mother’s jewelry, but what was left probably brought in a cool million. Lucas couldn’t help it, he was furious when he thought about how much money Aiden was making off of it all, but Reagan had easily calmed him down by telling him that it didn’t matter because they had something that Aiden would never have…love, and each other. Lucas may have left it at that if Aiden hadn’t turned to trying to harass Reagan. At least Lucas strongly suspected it was him. He just hadn’t been able to prove it yet.

Once they were back in town and the new and revamped company was up and running, Reagan enrolled in college and went to work at their side within the company. He didn’t believe there was anything that she couldn’t do. She was smart and driven and besides, she owned the largest percentage of the company. But she insisted that she wanted to learn the business from the sidelines while she worked on her degree. It was hard for Lucas to take a step back and let her do it that way, but he had to respect her decision. It said a lot about her character and made him love her even more. Once she settled into her new job, however, that was when things began to go south.
