That’s why I’m here in Florida. It has so many more perks too. Living beach side and actually being able to afford it was definitely one of them. The other was putting myself through cosmetology school on a fast-track program. It wasn’t easy, but thankfully, I finished it, and when things fell into place, I found one of the nicest people in the world to work with. Noelle took me under her wing, and she’s been a doll ever since.

I do what I need to in the bathroom, wash my hands, and I’m opening the door when I’m assaulted with a certain man’s scent. Not just any man either, no, it would be the man who wrecked my world only to build it back up without even knowing it.

“Cruz,” I mutter, my eyes not believing what I’m seeing. His hands find my shoulders, pressing me back into the ladies’ room. He’s gentle about it, but that doesn’t mean I’m okay with being alone with him.

“Luna.” My name coming from his lips, dark and raspy, is tinged with an edge of anger. It’s something I’ve wanted to hear for ages, even when my world was tilted upside down.

It wasn’t my intention to confront her, but after seeing that guy’s hands on her, even though it was just a hug, that’s all it fucking took. Luna leaving me after one night when she was meant to keep her ass put until I was back, still haunts me. Two hours, that’s all it took. She left. The sheets were cool to the touch, the room packed up. There was nothing left behind, not even the note I wrote to her.

“I like your name on my lips, Luna. Doesn’t mean I’m not pissed as hell at you.” I lick my lips, trying to control the way my body is reacting to hers. It doesn’t help though, not when my body is pressed against hers, feeling Luna’s softness to my hardness.

“Yeah, well, it’s been a long time.” Her eyes don’t meet mine. She’s looking over my shoulder, a look of defiance written on her face.

“That it has. You want to tell me why you left?” I fucking blurt out like a damn teenager who can’t hold in his anger.

“You think the ladies’ restroom is the time or place to have this conversation? You’re unbelievable.” She pushes against my shoulders, and I let her. I could have made her stay. It wouldn’t take much either, not with the way her body softened when I was crowding into her, but something told me not to push it.

“It’s going to happen, Luna, sooner rather than later. It’s been too long already, mi diosa.” My goddess, I remember our night like it was yesterday, when I spoke Spanish to her my cock deep inside Luna, feeling her tight pussy convulsing on my cock the more I spoke in my native tongue. It heightened everything, even if she didn’t know what I was saying. Hell, when it tumbled from my lips, I had no idea it was happening until she asked me to say it again.

“Well, I guess you’ll just have to find me.” I turn around and watch as she walks out on me.

“Are you saying I didn’t try before?”

“Yeah, because I believe that for one second.” When she turns around and I see the defeat in her eyes, I decide not to go after her. Yet.

“We’ll see about that. You going to leave me with a last name this time around?” I push, wanting the last word so she knows I’m not letting her go.

“I don’t know, Cruz. If that’s even your real name. It’s not like you left me with a whole lot to work with either.” Those are her parting words as she leaves. I watch her holding her head high, notice the way her body is softer than it once was, the dark circles beneath her eyes, and I know for a fact that by the end of tonight, I’ll know everything there is to know about Luna. I march out of the bathroom while a woman starts to voice her opinion. I just shake my head, silently telling her not to go there as I pull my phone out, because I know I’ll be making a phone call to Slade with Nighthawk Security. My only goal is having Luna back in my life. This time for good.

I ran, the coward that I am, leaving so much left unsaid. Even if I really did have to get back to my place, it seems like life is always a rush these days—a rush in the morning, a rush to work, a rush to get home, and the only time I really relax is in the evening when the sun is slowly dipping down and darkness is taking over. That doesn’t ever stop my mind from going to the what-ifs or the should-haves, would-haves, and could-haves. The moment I pick up Sailor, though, it all changes.
