“Trust me. This is what they’re known for. My favorite is the breakfast burger which has an egg, bacon, and a 100% Angus beef patty on a bun.”

Cammie nods, her eyes scanning the menu with interest.

“Oh, that sounds incredible, but I’m also looking at the Sunrise Special. I’ve never heard of orange on a burger, not to mention honeydew. I’m intrigued.”

“That one is amazing,” the waiter sings as he approaches our table. “If you like sweet and savory together, I highly recommend Sunrise. It’s one of our customer favorites.”

Cammie smiles at the kid. He’s probably in his teens working here on weekends while he’s in high school. He’s got some acne and a nervous way about him, but he’s friendly and eager to please.

“Alright, I’m going to go with that,” my girl says. “But my question is, do I do garlic fries or curly fries?”

“Garlic. Trust me,” the kid enthuses.

“I absolutely trust you,” she replies. “Garlic it is.”

“Perfect. And for you, sir?”

“I’ll have the same, actually. I think it might be the one burger on the menu I haven’t sampled yet.”

The waiter grins. “Good choice, and you won’t regret it. Two Sunrises coming right up. And what would you like to drink?”

“I’ll have a beer. Whatever IPA you have on tap.”

“I’ll just have a Coke,” chimes Cammie. “Thanks!”

The kid nods happily, his red hat bobbing.

“No problem. I’ll get that order in and be right back with your drinks.”

“No rush!” Cammie says as he prances away.

I stare at her, loving her pink cheeks and big brown eyes. She gets along with everyone, even pimply teenagers who trip over their own feet. Sharon, the woman in Lebanon, would probably give our server the evil eye and ask why management hired a minor.

“What?” Cammie asks with a smile.

I shake my head. “Nothing. Just admiring you.”

The curvy girl blushes. “Well, stop. You’re making me nervous.”

“It’s hard not to look at you, honey. You’re gorgeous.”

Cammie swats at me playfully, but I manage to draw back in time. The truth is, I am enjoying the view, but it’s more than that. This woman is incredible, and my heart lurches in my chest. She’s the perfect combination of gorgeous, smart, and sweet, and I can’t believe that I almost let her slip through my fingers. I lean forward, my heart in my throat.

“I’m glad we’re doing this,” is my low admission.

Her smile is immediate, like a ray of sunlight.

“Me, too. Thank you for today, Troy. I’ve had a really great time so far.”

“Thank you, sweetheart. Thank you for making this week absolutely amazing.”

She giggles, but then the food and drinks arrive, and we turn to our meals. The vittles are incredible. The waiter was right because this burger might be my new favorite. Somehow the tangy orange and sweet honeydew works with the meat patty in ways I never imagined.

After dinner, I drop Cammie off at her apartment.

“Thank you again,” she murmurs, looking down.

Cammie starts to get out of the truck, but I stop her. I lean over and give her a quick kiss.

“Goodnight,” I say, smiling.

“Goodnight, Troy.”

Then, she disappears inside the apartment complex, her bottom swaying with each step. I get hungry watching her, but it’s okay. I’ve been sampling that curvy figure non-stop for a week now, and she probably needs a rest. Smiling to myself, I rev the truck once more. The curvy girl is perfect, but the thing is, I don’t want our entire relationship to be about sex because we’re so much more than that. Cammie’s the real thing, and I’m the lucky man who’s been given the opportunity to enjoy her company.

The last three months have been incredible. I thought Troy was going to take off immediately after our night of passion, but instead, he was able to finagle so much vacation that he’s been in Medina for three whole months. He’s had to work some, but for the most part, he’s land-bound.

As a result, we’ve been enjoying one another non-stop. Some weekends, we don’t even get out of bed. Troy has me coming so hard and so often that I have to beg him to stop. Either that, or take me to the hospital. I giggle at the memory. That was an incredible forty-eight hours, that’s for sure.

Suddenly, there’s a dinging sound and Troy calls out, “Pizza’s here!”

I emerge from the alpha male’s bedroom. I had meetings with clients earlier today, but they’re over now, and I’ve finally changed into comfy house clothes which consist of his sweatpants and an XL t-shirt. I love that I don’t feel like I need to dress up for him, nor wear a stitch of make-up. He likes me just the way I am.

“Mmm, it smells great. This place better be as good as you say,” I say with a smile.

He merely grins while lifting the lid.
