After the accident, I bought a new truck. Thankfully, my dad agreed to cosign on the loan so I could get a reliable one with enough room for our growing family.
“You gonna make me one of those juice drinks?” I tease Gemma when she comes wobbling over.
“I might…if you ask nicely.” She smirks.
“Please,” I exaggerate. “Would my favorite sister in the whole world make me one?”
She rolls her eyes. “With a side of spit? Comin’ right up.”
“Last I checked, that wasn’t on the menu, so you can hold that.”
“Noah givin’ you a hard time again?” Tyler asks before kissing Gemma’s cheek.
“More like the other way around,” I counter.
“Oh, don’t be a baby,” she pokes.
Speaking of baby…
“Hey, make sure y’all aren’t late for dinner tonight. Katie’s been eager about it all week.”
We’re finally ready to tell our friends the incredible news, and I know they’ll be ecstatic and surprised. Katie planned a dinner so she could announce it to everyone at once.
“I wouldn’t dare.” Gemma beams. “And I can’t wait. It’s been too long since we’ve all been together.”
“Better remind Everleigh. She’d be late to her own funeral.” Tyler snorts.
“Already did.” I wave my phone. “Speaking of which, is it okay if I leave a little early? I wanna help Katie get everything ready.”
“Yeah, go ahead. I can manage the front until Caleb comes in for his shift.”
Now that more people are working out in the evenings, the gym stays open till ten.
“Thanks, man. I’ll see you guys in a bit.” I pat Tyler’s shoulder before heading out.
I drive to Katie’s and smile when I see her car in the driveway.
“Hey, buddy,” I greet Owen when I walk in. He’s in the living room watching something on Disney Plus.
“Hi, Noah!”
“Where’s your mom?”
“She’s taking a shower,” he tells me.
Perfect timing.
I kick off my shoes and pull off my shirt as I walk to the bathroom. Then remove the rest of my clothes before opening the curtain.
“What’re you doin’?” she exclaims, then slides her eyes down my body.
“Thought we could conserve water since I needed to rinse off too.” I grab her waist and carefully pull her closer to me. “I missed you.” Then I place a palm over her baby bump. “Missed my babies too.”
She wraps her arms around me and leans in, whispering against my lips. “I missed you too. Are you excited to finally tell everyone? I’m waiting for them to freak the fuck out when they hear it’s twins.”
“Not as excited as I am right now.” I waggle my brows, and she giggles.
Katie wraps her hand around my shaft, and my breath hitches. “I can see that.”
I groan as she strokes me a few times, then circles the tip.
“Too bad we gotta get ready,” she taunts, removing her hand.
“Ohh, you’re a cruel woman.” I cup her breast and gently squeeze. “You’re gonna pay for that later,” I whisper in her ear.
“Hmm, yeah? Tell me all the ways you’re going to punish me.”
Fuckin’ hell. She’s going to make me lose my goddamn mind.
“Oh, baby girl…” I growl hoarsely, then bring my hand between her legs and rub her clit. “You have no idea how hot you make me. Your round stomach, perky tits, and luscious ass. I’m gonna bend you over and tear you apart.”
Her head falls back with a throaty moan. “Okay, screw the party. We’ll text them the news instead.”
I bring my fingers to my mouth and taste her juices. “Nice try. You wanted to play this little game, sweetheart. Now you gotta wait your turn.”
She sticks out her bottom lip and pouts.
“Don’t worry. Later, I’ll eat that pussy until you’re coming on my face.” I flash her a wink.
“Be careful…that’s how you knocked me up in the first place,” she teases.
“Not like I can get you any more pregnant.” I shrug. “Hell, I hope to knock you up before you leave the hospital.”
“Noah!” She chuckles. “I don’t think you quite understand how giving birth works. We’ll have to wait six weeks after labor to have sex again.”
I pop a brow, unamused. “Six weeks? Like…in a row?”
She snorts, pushing the curtain back and stepping out while grabbing her towel. “Yes. Longer if you keep talking about knocking me up again. Two newborns will keep us plenty busy, trust me.”
My heart hammers in my chest because although I’ve had time to process the fact that we’re having twins, it cements the fact that I need to get a better-paying job. The last thing I want is for Katie to have to take on most of the financial burden on top of everything else. I need to figure it out sooner rather than later. Ideally, I’d love for her to be able to stay at home while I’m working, but I’m not sure how that would be possible. Right now, I’m spending my free time on the house so it will be finished in the next three to four months. I haven’t had much time to look for something else, but I need to.
