Maybe Aleena would have some ideas for keeping Travis happy, so he wouldn’t want to go to another woman. She’d been so excited to visit Travis but came away anxious and with a headache building in her temples.
Nia worked her way toward her bathroom and started a bath.
It was the only thing besides Travis that would make her feel better at that moment. When she was relaxed, she would call Aleena. If she tried to at that moment, Aleena would be able to tell how badly the day had affected her, and then she’d tell her daddy, who would tell Travis.
She didn’t want him to worry about it. He couldn’t really do anything about it besides talking to Madelyn, but she didn’t think it would make a difference. He could fire the secretary, and Nia would never suggest that.
She’d take it day by day. It was the only thing she could do.

“This is Travis.”
“Sir, it’s Stanley. I tried calling earlier, but I got no answer. I picked up a dark-colored older SUV following us. I wouldn’t have thought anything about it because the traffic was horrible, but I’d seen it this morning and across the street.”
“Did you get a license plate?”
“No, sir. They kept a few cars in between us.”
“How many men?”
“Hard to tell. I know there were definitely three, but the windows were darkened, so there could have been more. I made sure she was in the building before I left.”
“Okay. I’m glad you’re being diligent and protective of her.”
“She’s a very special girl. It’s easy to care for her.”
“You’re right about that. Keep your eyes out. I think it might be her brother. He’s a danger to her. I’m hoping I can talk her out of going out until we find these guys.”
“Goodbye, sir.”
Travis sat back and sighed. Security was his business, and all he could think to do was strap her to him so he would know she was safe.
“Fuck,” he cursed and went back to work, more anxious than usual to get home to her.
He didn’t catch the shadow that moved away from the door.
Chapter Thirteen
Travis walked into his condo a few hours earlier than expected. He couldn’t get anything done because he worried about Nia. He brought home some work and would get to it after he saw her.
“Nia!”
He didn’t hear anything and rapidly looked in some of the rooms she used on the way to the master suite.
His breath caught in his chest at the sight of her spread out on their bedspread. She was asleep and naked except for the throw blanket she had wrapped around her upper torso, leaving her bottom half bare. Just the way he liked her. One of her knees were bent, opening her thighs enough he could see her pink cunt.
He stripped his clothes in the bathroom and quickly showered before making his way to the bed, where his heart and soul lay sleeping. He could admit it to himself, at least. She’d turned his life upside down, and he didn’t mind at all.
The thought of giving up any control to another person would piss him off. He was alpha, and he liked to be in charge. He was good at it had made him a lot of money. But with her, she already controlled his heart and the way he saw the future.
He opened the nightstand and got out the lube and a condom.
The feelings rushing through him couldn’t be explained. He just knew he had to take her in the most intimate way possible. After he lay down beside her, he started kissing her shoulder. He worked his way slowly down her vertebra, trying not to miss anything.
“Mmmm.”
He smiled. “There you are. I wondered when you were going to wake up and join me.”
