“Julian? What’s wrong? Did you see something?” Keira sat up, looking around fearfully.
“No. No, baby.” He forced himself to calm. “I just don’t think it’s safe to do this out in the open.”
Understanding filled her face. Cole sat up, staring at them both. “What do you mean, safe?”
“We’re leaving,” Julian barked. “If you want to be wearing clothes when we go, I suggest you hurry up.”
What the hell was going on with those two?
Cole pulled up outside the adult store, wondering at the strange tension in the car. Things had been going well, or at least he’d thought they had. Having Keira’s mouth on his cock could never be a bad thing. Even if he’d been ordered not to come without permission.
This submitting stuff was difficult. He’d had to fight hard to keep himself from taking over. But he could do it. He wanted to do it. He wanted to give them whatever they needed to believe in them.
You can’t help them if you don’t know what’s going on.
He tightened his hands on the steering wheel. He hated this. Detested it.
He had to know it all.
Easy, man. You need to earn their trust and tying them up and demanding answers from them isn’t going to get you want you want, as nice as that thought is.
“We don’t have to do this. We can go home.” Keira looked over her shoulder at Julian worriedly.
The other man had sunk so far into himself, Cole wondered if he’d even heard her. Then he seemed to rouse himself. He eyed Keira.
Cole tried not to let his emotions bleed onto his face, but he was seriously concerned about them.
“No, I’m sorry about earlier.” Julian frowned, as though thinking over what had happened. “I thought I heard a noise and I . . . It’s fine. Let’s go inside.” He abruptly exited the car and then walked around to Keira’s side.
Keira sent Cole a smile. “He’s fine.”
Cole’s scowl deepened. So now she was doing it for Julian as well? Claiming everything was all right when clearly it wasn’t.
“No, Keira, he isn’t,” Cole said in a low voice, regretting it when she flinched. “What is going on?”
Her car door opened, and Julian bent down. “Everything all right? Keira?”
She turned her gaze slowly from Cole to her husband. “Of course, baby. Let’s go spend some of Cole’s money.”
Her voice was overly cheerful, and Julian flinched. “Fuck. Shit. I messed up. Kitten, I’m sorry.”
Keira climbed from the car and walked into Julian’s arms. He squeezed her tightly. Cole stepped out, walking around the hood towards them.
“It’s all right, Julian. We’re all okay. You didn’t do anything wrong, okay?”
“Except for ruining a damn sexy moment,” Julian said dryly.
“Yes, well, Cole might be in a bit of pain,” Keira said slyly, looking over her shoulder at him.
Cole grimaced. “I think that was Julian’s intention. Having heaven wrapped around my dick and then taking it away. Cruelest punishment imaginable.”
Keira managed a grin, but Julian’s face just tightened further, but there was a hint of apology in his gaze. Cole reached over, carefully, prepared for the other man to pull away. He was shocked when Julian let him clasp his shoulder and squeeze.
“Hey, it’s all good, man. Let’s go put a dent in my credit card and then head home, yeah?”
Julian’s eyes roamed the deserted parking lot. “Yeah. I’d feel better if we were home.”
A knot tightened in Cole’s gut.
