Bain brushed his lips across her forehead. “Go to sleep, little bit.”
“I don’t want you to leave.”
“I’ll stay here as long as you want me to. I’m not planning on going anywhere. Never again.” He climbed into bed next to her.
She snuggled in against him and he wrapped an arm around her. “I’ve never slept with anyone before.”
“I’m glad to be your first then. Go to sleep, angel. I’m right here, watching over you.”

She woke up alone, surprised to see she’d slept in. Had Bain stayed the night as promised?
Of course, he did. Bain always did what he said he would. She rolled to her side and caught a hint of his scent. Yum, delicious.
With another stretch, she stood and walked into the bathroom to pee and brush her teeth. When she walked back into the bedroom, she was surprised to see Bain lying on her bed. A tray of food sat in front of him.
“Good morning,” she said quietly, taking him in. He was shirtless. His gorgeous, cut chest on display with rippling abs. A thin line of hair led down into his sweatpants.
Oh Lord. Was he trying to kill her? Seriously. She felt like she was about to self-combust.
“Hi, yourself,” he murmured back with a heated look in his eyes. “Sleep okay?”
“Better than okay. I can’t remember the last time I slept so good.”
“That so? Wonder why that was.”
She walked slowly forward then picked up the tray of food, noticing the bowls of muesli and strawberry yogurt. Along with two glasses of orange juice and some blueberry muffins.
Yummy.
But not what she felt like eating right now. She set the tray down on her bedside table and then climbed onto the bed.
Bain lay on his back, one hand tucked behind her head. But he watched her every move, his eyes devouring her.
“Hmm, I wonder. Maybe it was because for the first time ever I didn’t sleep alone.”
His eyes narrowed into slits. “Is that right? You think you’d sleep as good with just anyone?”
She straddled his hips with her legs then tapped her chin, pretending to ponder that. “I don’t know. I suppose I could test that out. Find someone else to sleep with me tonight. Compare snuggle buddies.”
He flipped her over and she cried out with surprise as suddenly he was lying between her spread legs, his hips pressed against hers, his forearms resting on the bed on either side of her, supporting his weight so he didn’t crush her.
He wasn’t a small guy.
“I’m the only damn snuggle buddy you’ll ever have,” he growled.
She had to bite her lip at those words to stop the surge of laughter. He must have spotted the amusement on her face. He shook his head. “Brat.”
“Your brat.”
“You are. All fucking mine.” Leaning in, he kissed her. Devoured her. She wasn’t sure how long he kissed her for, but by the time he pulled back her breath was coming fast, her insides burning with need.
“Bain,” she murmured. “Please.”
“You want more, Ari? You want me to touch you? Pleasure you?”
“God yes. Please. So much.”
