“Rae?”
Sh
e started coughing before she lunged for the sink.
“Rae!”
She heaved into the porcelain concavity as I held her hair back.
“It’s okay. I gotcha. You’re all right.”
She spat. “Holy shit, that stuff tastes terrible.”
I paused. “Wait, you’re not getting sick?”
She stood up. “Only off of that. You can have it. Ugh. That’s nasty.”
My eyebrows rose. “I got something to replace the flavor, if you’re up for it.”
She wiped her mouth off. “Is that a blowjob joke? Because if it is, it’s not as good as your other ones.”
I chuckled. “Get over here and kiss me, woman.”
I wrapped her up in my arms and pulled her against my body. My cock pressed against the warmth of her skin, ushering me back home. I picked her up and walked her over to the tub, stepping us both in and settling us beneath the bubbles. I slid my fingers into her gloriously soft locks and gazed into her breathtaking eyes. And when my lips pressed against hers, the whole of the world stood still.
“I love you so much,” she whispered.
I grinned. “I love you, too.”
Her head settled against my shoulder. “You know what we should do for the nursery?”
I kissed the top of her head. “What’s that?”
“Make it gender neutral.”
“How so?”
“You know, yellows and pale greens and rainbows. Make it so that a boy or a girl could fit well into it.”
“Those kinds of colors would go well with the scheme of the rest of the house.”
“Plus, we could get started on it piece by piece while I’m still able to move. You know, instead of waiting until I’m practically swollen everywhere to do something about it.”
“I mean, you’re not doing any of that hard work anyway.”
She scoffed. “Why can’t I help out with the nursery?”
I grinned down at her. “Because you’re going to be too busy growing our child, Rae. I can take care of that stuff.”
She snuggled against me. “Fine. I’ll just put it on my Pinterest and see what you come up with.”
I smiled. “Sounds perfect to me.”
She reached her foot up and turned off the water as the bubbles reached an all-time high. I mean, we were covered from head to toe, except for our faces. She giggled as they popped against her nose. My heart warmed as she kept snuggling deeper into me, wiggling herself between my legs. I didn't even care that water was sloshing out onto the freshly-tiled floors.
I was just glad to be holding the love of my life against me in a tub in our forever home.
“Our parents are going to freak. You know that, right?” she asked.
