“You only turn twenty-one once Josephine.”
“Really, I have never celebrated a birthday before, Tommy. There is no need to start now.”
“You are breaking my heart, Precious. I will be rectifying that.”
“No really, Thomas. Don’t. It is not necessary.”
“You let me worry about that. These tacos are delicious.” I say taking a huge bite. We finish dinner, and I help her with the dishes. We spend the evening alternating between watching more episodes of Bones and talking. I set my plan in action for the following morning.
When we wake up the next morning, I sit up with my back against the headboard. I pull her, so she is sitting on my lap, her slick pussy rocking back and forth over my hard length. When I slide inside her, she cries out my name. I feel like the strongest man in the world.
I slowly make love to her, just as she is about to come, I slide the ring on her finger. I come inside her sweet heat yet again at the same time she clenches down on me. When she climbs off me and lays on her back, she notices the ring.
“What is this?” She asks, and I roll over her, bracing myself on my arms.
Will you marry me, Josephine McKinney?”
“Marry you? Are you serious? We just met two days ago.”
“Of course, I’m serious. Why wouldn’t I be?”
“We don’t know anything about each other.” She wiggles her way out from under me and paces around the room.
“I know everything I need to know.”
“Like what?”
I get out of bed and move toward her.
“We love each other, you could be pregnant. I love you.”
“You said that already Tommy.”
“I mean it twice. We may not know everything about each other, but we have the rest of our lives to figure it all out. I already know that I need you for the rest of mine, the question is do you need me?”
“Yes. I do need you, but you don’t have to marry me.”
“I absolutely do.”
“Fuck this is crazy, but I want this. So, alright, I’ll marry you. Besides, divorce is always an option.” She says sassily. My grin slowly turns to a frown.
“There is no fucking way I’d ever let you go, Precious. Get used to me.”
“Fine, I guess I can get used to you.” She says laughing.
I scoop her up into my arms, spinning her around. I kiss her with everything that’s in me.
“You’ve made me the happiest man in the world. Happy Birthday, Precious.”
Chapter Eight
Josephine
Tommy drops me off at my place with a kiss, telling me to get dolled up and that he would be back in forty-five minutes. We're going to Matt and Jules reception at On the Shamrocks.
I decided on a dark blue sundress and my favorite hot pink wedges. I curl my hair and decide on light makeup. I’m in the middle of putting on my mascara when my engagement ring hits the mirror just right and almost blinds me.
I get this unfathomable giddy feeling in the pit of my stomach every time I look at it. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
