She moaned deeply, her fingers clasping his buttocks, driving him deeper and deeper, forcing the pace, demanding more, taking every inch of him until he feared he could hold on no further.

Her breaths were becoming shallow, her soft moans becoming longer.

Pulsations were starting to build inside him.

He screwed his eyes shut, fighting with all his might to hold on. This was too soon. Far too soon. He didn’t want it to end. He wanted to drive into her tight warmth for ever.

And then her back arched, her muscles spasmed around him and he could hold on no more. With one last bucking thrust he let go and allowed the pulsations to rip through him in a burst of unprecedented exquisite pleasure.

Rosa could not help the laugh that escaped from her throat.

Nico lifted his face from its burial in her shoulder and gazed at her.

‘Amazing...’ She sighed. Stars were still blinding the back of her retinas. ‘Bloody amazing.’

He kissed her—a full-bodied, sensual kiss that contained so much—before breaking away from her.

‘I need to get rid of the condom,’ he said regretfully, his voice hoarse.

‘One more kiss,’ she beseeched, yanking his head back down so they could exchange a kiss that was filled more with laughter than passion.

He pressed his lips to the tip of her nose. ‘I’ll be back in less than a minute.’

‘I’ll be counting.’

Stretching luxuriantly, she watched him pad over to the en suite bathroom.

It was cold without his warmth, so she nestled under the sheets to wait for his return.

She felt ridiculously like giggling.

So that was what an orgasm felt like.

This time she did giggle, smothering the schoolgirl sound with a pillow.

Who would have known? How could she ever have known making love to her husband would be so wonderful?

‘What’s so funny?’ Nico came back into the room, stalking towards her, his brow raised and a quirk playing on his lips.

She shook her head. ‘Nothing. I was just thinking.’

He got under the covers next to her. ‘Thinking about what?’

‘Thinking I can’t believe we shared a roof for eleven months and had no idea how incredible things could be between us.’

A pang of anxiety suddenly bloomed through her.

‘It wasn’t just me, was it?’ she begged, turning onto her side to face him and sliding her hand around his waist. ‘Tell me it was as good for you.’

He pulled her close so she was flush against him and breathed into her hair. ‘How can you even question it?’

Her mind at ease, she buried her face into his chest, inhaling the citrusy scent that now contained a hint of musk.

Had she ever felt so...replete? Content? Whatever the word, all she knew was right at that moment it would take a crowbar to prise her away from him.

Nico had taken her to the stars and she never wanted to come back to earth.

CHAPTER TEN

‘WAKE UP, SLEEPY HEAD.’

Nico’s gravelly voice broke through Rosa’s slumber. Instantly her brain switched to wakefulness.

As with the day before, he had brought her breakfast in bed.

Stretching, she covered a yawn and sat up.

What a difference a day made.

Twenty-four hours ago she had woken stiff and shattered. Today she felt as if she had slept for England. Not that she’d had that much sleep, considering they had still been making love when the sun began its ascent.

‘What game are you planning to teach me today?’ she asked, picking up the glass of orange juice.

A wicked gleam came into Nico’s eyes. ‘Today, daragaya, you and I are going on a trip.’

‘Where to? The gym?’ She guffawed at her own joke. Unbelievably, she was already wide awake, her entire being fizzing with delight, her heart so full she could believe it had been filled with a forest of rose petals.

He leaned down and grazed his teeth along the curve of her neck. ‘Eat your breakfast and then change into one of those tiny bikinis that show off your beautiful body.’

‘You want me to change?’ she said, turning the sides of her mouth down and fluttering her eyelashes at him. ‘That’s a shame. I was hoping we could spend the rest of the day in bed.’

Capturing her mouth in a kiss, he nipped her bottom lip gently. ‘Nothing would please me more than to spend the rest of the week in bed with you, but as this is your first holiday I want you to remember it for more than fantastic sex.’

With hungry eyes she watched him retreat into the en suite bathroom and released a sigh of contentment.

Impulsively she pinched her forearm.

It hurt.

She threw herself back and gazed at the ceiling, a smile glued to her face.

This really was real.

For the first time since she was eight years old she wanted to hug herself with happiness.
