But in Duluth, I was truly alone, and a client took advantage of that. If Damon hadn’t appeared on the scene just in the knick of time, I shudder to think of what could have happened.
As it is, everything turned out okay. After my man finished coming in me, he undid the ties on my wrists, and freed me from the gag.
“I’m so sorry, Rose,” he cried. “I’m so sorry.”
Then, he cradled me in his arms, his tears mixing with mine. But it wasn’t that. I enjoyed our encounter together, even if adrenaline continued to flow through my veins. I’d been saved by the handsome man, and although he was a little rough with me at the end, I enjoyed it.
“It’s okay,” I murmured through my own sniffles. “I’m okay.”
He pressed an agonized kiss to my mouth, looking deep in my eyes.
“Will you ever forgive me, Rose? For using your body the way that I just did?” he asked in a broken voice. “There is no excuse.”
Tears ran hotly down my cheeks.
“I do forgive you,” I managed between sobs. “I forgive you because oh Damon, I wanted it! I want you so much, and I love you, and … and … I’m having your baby.”
It was then that the gorgeous alpha male drew back with shock in his eyes.
“You’re pregnant?” he rasped. I nodded, so afraid of what he was going to say.
“You’re going to be a father,” I whispered, trembling a bit from nervous fear. “What do you think?” And at first, it was really scary. Damon sat there on the mattress, absolutely still, his big form unmoving.
“Please say something,” I pleaded. “I know this is unexpected, and that you don’t want more children, but –”
That’s when my man cut me off.
“No, I do want more children,” he said roughly, his eyes glowing as he pulled me to him abruptly, cuddling my form close. “I want more children with you, Rose. I love you so much and … oh shit, is my baby in here?” he asked reverently, one large hand skimming over my soft tummy.
“Yes,” I affirmed, tears running down my cheeks while covering his palm with my own. “Say hello to your son or daughter.”
With that, everything went into light speed. Damon whisked me out of Duluth and back to New York City. He wouldn’t even let me stay an extra night, he was so eager to get me back to the safety of his penthouse. We reported “Jack” to both the Duluth PD and Small Town Sassies, but we didn’t bother to follow up on what happened to him. Hopefully, he’s put in jail, and pays mightily for his crimes. At the very least, we confirmed that the escort agency dropped him.
Meanwhile, it’s been a frenzied two years since. My life has been filled with laughter and love, and every day is incredibly heartwarming. I had a difficult pregnancy, and as a result, I was put on bedrest almost as soon as I returned to New York. But it was worth it because I moved straight into Damon’s apartment, and we resumed our relationship.
“Are you okay with this?” I asked one day, sitting up on the huge king-size mattress.
“I am sweetheart,” my man growled, looking me in the eye. “I’ve already told Lucy about us too. My daughter’s excited. She wants to be a big sister again.”
“She’s okay with it?” I gasped.
He nodded and smiled, somewhat ruefully.
“How can she not be? My daughter is married to my best friend, so it’s only fitting that I get married to hers.”
That took me for a surprise.
“Married?” I echoed, my voice faint.
With that, Damon got on one knee and gazed into my eyes with his own.
“I love you, Rose Crain. We’ve been through a lot together already, from Saucy Nights, to City Girls, to that fucking Small Town Whatever in Duluth. I’ve already gotten on a plane and chased you down, and now I practically have you tied to my mattress with your tummy bulging with my child. But I love it. I love you,” he said roughly. “I want to be with you forever, and I want you to be Mrs. Damon Pratt. This is right.”
I laughed and cried, my heart in my throat, but what could I do but agree? And now, we’re at City Hall, with my parents, Lucy and Shane, and our little girl Misty in attendance. Misty’s only one, so she’s cooing in my parents’ arms. Mildred and Matthew adore the baby, and although they were introduced to Damon in a startling fashion, they’ve come to cherish my fiancé as well.
After all, Damon is everything a woman could ask for. He’s gorgeous, filthy rich, possessive as all hell, and a doting father and husband. To top things off, he even offered to finally make that investment in Saucy Nights, but I declined. After the roller coaster we’ve been through, I’m no longer interested in starting my own agency. I’ll find another vocation, although as of late, I consider being a mommy my number one job.
