Jase comes to stand way too close to me, and I’m wrapped in a cloud of his woodsy scent.

I groan inwardly as my resolve slips some more.

Lifting a hand, Jase brushes my hair off my shoulder. He leans down, and when I feel his breath on my cheek, my eyes drift shut.

Oh, God. I have zero resistance right now.

“Thing?” he whispers so low, it almost sounds like a growl.

My stomach buzzes like a beehive that’s been disturbed, and my heart beats so fast I’m afraid my chest won’t be able to contain the wild organ.

Pulling back, Jase tilts his head, and he locks his eyes on mine. After a couple of torturous seconds, he says, “You know I’m only joking with you, right?”

Yeah, sadly, I do know.

I nod, trying very hard to ignore the sting in my heart.

There’s a weird look on his face as he smiles at me. “It’s just ’cause you’re one of my favorite people.”

Knowing he won’t take it wrong, I grab the chance to speak the truth without bearing the consequences of it. “Yeah, I love you, too.”

I love you so so so much.

I keep the smile on my face as I watch him leave, and then my shoulders slump.

Nothing sucks like unrequited love.

To Jase, it’s nothing more than innocent flirting, but for me, it’s torture.

Letting out a sigh, I walk back to the bathroom so I can get dressed.

You need to get over Jase, Mila. Nothing will ever come of it.JASEMy heart is practically pounding in my chest as I shut my bedroom door behind me.

Fuck, why did I do that?

I was a split-second away from grabbing hold of Mila and kissing her.

Confused, I lean back against the door, sucking in deep breaths of air.

I admit I’ve felt an attraction toward her, but tonight? Seeing her only in that towel?

Fuck, she looked sexy and… totally fuckable.

The thought makes me choke on a random drop of spit, and coughing, I rush to my bedside table to get some water. I swallow half the bottle down before I come up for air.

What the fuck was that?

Feeling claustrophobic, I practically jog out of my room.

“Where are you going?” Kao asks as I rush past the kitchen where he and Noah are busy scarfing down burgers.

“For a walk,” I call back.

I can’t get out of the suite fast enough, and not wanting to be stuck in the elevator, I take the stairs down. When I burst through the main doors of the dorm, I stop to get some air in.

Holy shit, do I have a thing for Mila?

Noooo.

But…

Fuck.

Panic begins to bleed into my chest.

You just need to get laid, Jase. There’s nothing between you and Mila. She’s hot, and you saw her half-naked. It’s only normal for your cock to take notice.

I let out a frustrated groan and glancing around me, my eyes land on Jessica as she comes out of the opposite dorm.

She spots me, and crossing the road, there’s a broad smile on her face. “Hey, Jase.” Her voice is low and inviting.

“Hey.” Mine sounds like it’s breaking all over again. I clear my throat.

“You want some company?” she asks, and I can hear the double-meaning. I should stay away from the girl seeing as Fallon, Hana, Mila, and Jade don’t get along with her and her friends.

But instead, I ask, “What did you have in mind?”

She points to the dorm across the road. “I just redecorated my suite. Wanna come and see?”

No.

“Sure.”

I shove my hands in my pockets and follow an ecstatic Jessica to her suite.

Everything in me wants to run back to my own suite, but I push through and walking into Jessica’s private space, it just feels… wrong.

“Soooo,” she turns to stare at my face, “what do you think?”

I don’t even take in the decor. “It looks good.”

Gripping hold of my arm, she pulls me toward her bedroom. “This is my favorite room.”

The feeling that this is all wrong keeps growing in my chest until my breaths begin to speed up.

Jessica must read my reaction wrong because the next second, her mouth is plastered against mine.

Instead of pulling away, I force my hands to her face and kiss her back. I take a deep breath of her scent, and the sweet smell instantly clears my head. Yanking away from her, I feel the first ripples of regret.

Nothing like the soft scent always wrapped around Mila.

“This is a mistake,” I grumble, and I leave her standing in her bedroom. I let myself out of the suite, feeling like a zombie as I walk back to my own building.

Now I’m even more confused.

Frustrated and confounded, I walk into my suite, and come to a standstill when I see Mila lying on the couch with the other girls. They’re watching Smallville.

Fallon spots me first. “Where were you?”

“I just went for a walk.” I move closer to the couch Mila’s on, and I can’t stop myself from saying, “Make space for me.”
