Jase jumps up and replants himself on the couch beside his mother, wrapping an arm around her and covers her mouth. “Mila doesn’t need to hear that story.”

Jamie laughs and mumbles past his fingers, “He yanked his pants down in front of all the attendees and walked around, butt naked.”

I begin to laugh, more because of their antics as Jase tries to stop Jamie from talking than the actual story.

Jamie cracks up, laughing to the point that she’s struggling to get the words out. “Every couple of steps… he’d stop… and wiggle his butt… yelling… shake that ass.”

I crack up at the sound of her laughter, and Jase giving up, sits back with a broad smile, just watching us. “You should’ve charged everyone for the show. My hot ass would’ve made you millions.”JASESeeing Mom and Mila laughing fills my chest with pride and warmth.

When they calm down, and Mom looks at me, I blurt the words out, “I love Mila. She’s the one for me.”

“I know,” Mom whispers. She places a hand against my jaw. “I knew the instant I saw you at the hospital. I’m happy you found your one, my baby.”

I don’t give two shits that she still calls me her baby. I love hearing it because no matter how strong I have to be for everyone else, I know I’ll always have someone to fall back on when the pressure becomes too much.

Mom turns her gaze to Mila, and it has her sputtering, “He made me work my butt off for it. I loved him first.”

Mom chuckles. “Yeah, all the Reyes’ men are like that.” She glances between us, then asks, “So will it be okay with the two of you if I called Mia and arranged for us to spend Thanksgiving together. I feel we have a lot to be thankful for this year.”

My eyes dart to Mila, and she answers, “I’d love that.”

Mom gets up. “I should get going. I have to pick up Carla from school. We’re redoing her winter wardrobe.”

“Give her a hug from me,” I say. I should call my little sister and hear how she’s doing. We haven’t spoken during the past two weeks, and it makes me feel guilty. “I’ll call her later.”

“Do that,” Mom says. She presses a kiss to my cheek then hugs Mila. “Don’t be strangers.”

I walk her to the door, then she pauses. “Oh, your dad said you made a good call with the deal. He’s proud of you.”

A smile spreads over my face. I let Mom out and shut the door. When I turn back to Mila, she tilts her head. “What deal?”

Resting my forearms on her shoulders, I answer, “I’ve been training with my grandfather every week. On Saturday, he asked my opinion on a deal my father is working on.”

A light frown forms on Mila’s forehead. “So all those times I thought you were out with a girl, you were actually visiting your grandfather?”

I nod. “Yeah.”

“Why did you let me think you were a player?” she asks.

“I didn’t. You just assumed.”

“Yeah,” she widens her eyes. “Assumptions are the mother of all fuck ups.”

It’s seldom I hear her curse, and it makes me grin. “That’s a turn on.”

“What?”

I lean closer. “You saying fuck.” Dropping my voice lower, I murmur, “Makes me think of thrusting my cock…” I close the distance more, “into your wet…” I nip at her lips, “pussy.” And then I fucking kiss her until she’s gasping and clinging to my shoulders.

Mila bites at my bottom lip, and pulling back, she gives me a seductive look. “Who knew that dirty mouth of yours would be my undoing?”

When she turns away from me, I slap her ass before gripping a hand full. “Enough to get you naked?”

“Who’s getting naked?” Fallon asks as she walks into the living room.

Playfully, I scowl at my cousin. “How do you always manage to walk into the middle of a conversation and hear the worst possible sentence?”

“Not the worst,” Mila mumbles under her breath.

Fallon shrugs. “So are the two of you a couple now?” She takes a bottle of water from the fridge and drinks some.

“Yeah,” I grin, wrapping an arm around Mila’s shoulders.

“Good. I’m happy for you,” Fallon says before she goes back to her room.

“I need to get some studying done,” Mila mutters. “Or I’m going to fail accounting.”

“I’ll tutor you,” I offer.

“Let’s go get some work done,” Mila says, and when we walk into my room, she adds, “And no getting naked until I’ve studied enough to get an A.”Chapter 30MILAIt’s been three weeks since Jase told me he loves me, and I still find myself wondering if this is real or just a dream.

If it’s a dream, I never want to wake up.

Hunter arranged for the doors in my room to be fixed, but Jase still refuses to let me sleep in my room. I look at the outfit on my bed Jase asked me to wear to the Halloween Ball. I slip on the white medium length, off shoulder pencil dress and instantly notice the slit comes up to my thigh.
