Shooting him a glare, I ask, “Ever heard of personal space?”

Slowly he turns to me with his trademark sexy grin plastered on his face. It only makes my glare darken.

Jase leans his head closer to mine and whispers, “You love having me in your personal space.”

The low timbre of his voice sends goosebumps rushing over my skin. My heart flutters, and my insides quiver. Everything about Jase makes me weak in the knees. From his thick brown hair to his golden-brown eyes. Let’s not forget his toned body and sun-brown skin. The guy is my wildest fantasy incarnate, which doesn’t help shit in my struggle to keep him at a distance.

It’s a reaction I’ve grown accustomed to whenever I’m near Jase. I’d love nothing more than to grab hold of his shirt and to yank him down so I can kiss that grin from his way too sexy face. But my determination to keep things platonic between us once again triumphs over my attraction for him.

I bring up a hand between us and shove him back. The doors open, and I dart out of the elevator, snapping. “In your dreams, Jase.”

He catches up to me and throws his arm around my shoulders. “Babe, I’ve told you before, you don’t want to know what I do to you in my dreams.”

The first time Jase said those words to me, I was too stunned to react. I shrug his arm away as I walk into the suite, growling, “Don’t touch me with your Jessica infested paws.”

Jade and Hunter glance between us, then Jade asks, “Weren’t you going to eat?”

I roll my eyes in Jase’s direction. “I lost my appetite.” Walking to my room, I slam the door shut behind me, but it just swings open again as Jase follows me inside. “I haven’t had dinner. Let’s go.”

Turning around, I cross my arms over my chest and glare at him. “I’m not hungry.”

Ignoring me, Jase stalks to me, and, wrapping an arm around my waist, he pulls me out of my room.

“Dude, I said no,” I protest even though my deceitful heart is doing a happy dance that Jase is giving me attention.

Pathetic, I know.

Jase continues to ignore me and pulls my left arm free so he can take hold of my hand. To the wide-eyed expressions Jade and Hunter are giving us, Jase says, “I’m going to feed grumpy. Catch you later.”

“Grumpy my butt,” I scoff as we leave the suite.

When we stop in front of the elevator, Jase again leans into me. “Careful, babe. You’ll have me thinking you’re jealous because you saw Jessica kissing me.”

“Ugh.” I roll my eyes so hard, I’m surprised they don’t fall right out of their sockets. “There’s a difference between being traumatized from you and Jessica sucking face and actually giving two shits.”

Jase grins at me as the doors slide open, and he pulls me inside. “Yeah, keep lying to yourself, Mila. It’s fun watching you squirm.”

I pull my hand free from Jase’s and shake my head. “You’re delusional. Stop seeing things that aren’t there.”

Jase moves quickly, and placing his hands on my hips, he pushes me back until I’m pinned against the panel. He lowers his head, and feeling his breath on my face makes the spit in my mouth dry right up. My heart skips a beat before it sets off at a crazy pace, and my stomach knots up with anticipation.

Jase shifts his hands up to my jaw, and when our gazes lock, I forget to breathe. Those golden-brown eyes have always been my greatest weakness. They have a way of hypnotizing me.

Jase’s voice is low and husky when he whispers, “So you don’t want to kiss me right now?”

Somehow I manage to shake my head.

Vaguely I hear the doors open, and then Fallon says, “Whoa! Let’s take the stairs, Hana.”

Hearing my friend’s voice yanks me out of the lovesick spell Jase put me under, and I pull free from him. Darting out of the elevator, I rush out of the dorm and hurry around the side of the building. Breaking out into a run, I make a mad dash in the direction of the lecture buildings.

I only stop when I’m sure Jase is nowhere in sight. Leaning against a wall, I catch my breath while I try to rein in my emotions, which almost got the better of me.

You know better than to be alone with Jase! That was too close. No matter how much you want to be with him, you can’t give in. Jase will soon find someone new to flirt with, and you’ll be able to just be his friend. Just hold out.

But damn, the past month of flirting is starting to really get to me. A girl can only say no so many times before she gives in.
