“Thank you,” I murmur, my cheeks burning.
He chuckles and the sound makes my toes curl in my shoes. “I love it when you blush. Almost as much as I love that dress.”
“Ugh,” I groan, my hands instinctively going to my face to cover the blossoming red spots. “I feel like I’m overdressed. I should have just worn some black pants.”
“No,” he growls, gripping my waist and pulling me closer to him. “You’re perfect in it. Your body… it’s mind-blowing.”
The heat of his big form against mine is insane, and I practically melt. But then insecurity washes over me and I bite my lip.
“But I’m a little round, don’t you think?”
He shakes his head fiercely. “Not at all, sweetheart. You’re just my type. Curvy and sexy, and as lush beneath that dress as you are in it.”
With those words, he brushes his lips against mine and my knees begin to shake with excitement and longing. It’s a quick kiss, a simple peck on the lips, but my heart feels like it’s close to bursting.
“I’m speechless, too, you know,” I manager to gasp after he lets go. Butterflies are bouncing in my stomach and a giddy high is dominating my mood. “You’re gorgeous too, Doctor Monroe.”
Dark slashes highlight his cheekbones and he brushes his lips against mine once more, making me shiver.
“Oh you think so, do you?” he growls playfully.
I can’t even dissemble. With another breathy nod, I acknowledge my attraction. “I do.”
He growls again, his blue eyes gleaming, but then he pulls back.
“Where are my manners? Let me show you around.”
I’m disappointed, but I take a deep breath and straighten my spine, squaring my shoulders while trying to get myself back under control. This man does something crazy to me, but I only want the night to become even more wonderful in his arms.6RandallShe’s even more beautiful than I remember.
Her lips are sweet, like honey and sugar.
Her body is even more curvaceous than in my imagination, the dips and dives of her waist and hips making my body harden like a rock. I thought I would feel some guilt when I saw Olivia at my apartment since the way we met was so unethical and unlike me, but the second my eyes meet hers and drift down the length of her sexy body, I forget all about my code of ethics.
She’s different from every other woman in Maine. While the other ladies are attractive, they’re a bit too thin and athletic for my taste. A lot of Maine ladies are avid hikers and skiers, and it’s great that they’re so outdoorsy and healthy. Yet I just don’t find muscular women and bony whippets to be my type. By contrast, Olivia, with her curves and round hips, is exactly my type.
Trying to keep my eyes on her face is the hardest task I’ve ever had to face. I lick my lips as I watch her hips sway back and forth as she walks into my apartment, her mouth dropping open as soon as her heels are planted on the dark hardwood floors.
“This is your apartment?” she exclaims, eyes wide with shock and amazement as she spins.
I chuckle at her reaction because, I have to admit, I have a really nice apartment for a single thirty-five year-old. If I weren’t a doctor, I’d probably be living in a cardboard box somewhere.
“This is it,” I grin.
She scans the granite counter tops and white cabinetry in the kitchen to her right. There’s a marble island in the center with bar stools, which is where we’ll be eating tonight. The large double oven nearly makes her topple over, but I grab her waist and pull her back into my front to steady her as her eyes roam the rest of the apartment.
Directly in front of us is the living room, with an oversized sectional in the center that’s just as comfortable as it looks. There’s also a massive area rug, with a cherrywood coffee table gleaming in the low lights. The electric fireplace is on, flickering like a real fire but without the heat and attendant smoke.
“This place is gorgeous,” she murmurs with awe. “It must cost a fortune.”
I shrug my shoulders and spin her around so her front is pressed against mine. Her soft breasts make me moan under my breath. “It’s nothing I can’t handle.”
Olivia smiles shyly and bites her lip, her gaze drifting down to my mouth. She swallows heavily as she stares, her tongue darting between her lips to moisten them. There’s longing in her eyes, a need that makes me pulse with desire and yearning. Something inside me tells me to pick her up right then and there and take her to my bedroom, but my rational side screams at me to wait and get to know her.
“We should probably eat,” I whisper, my lips inches from hers. Her breath smells of spearmint, tickling my nostrils with its scent. I smell faint notes of jasmine and pears and it gets stronger the closer I move to her, to her neck, to her décolletage …
