I giggle a bit.
“Did you just make up that word?”
She eyes me with approval.
“Of course! But honey, you are doing so well. I completely support your decisions. Making out with your doctor in the middle of an exam? When you might have coronavirus? Who is this guy?”
I roll my eyes.
“I don’t have coronavirus. My test came back negative, remember?”
She shrugs and smiles again.
“That’s excellent news because you better get laid tonight,” she warns, her tone half joking, half serious as she pulls away from me. “You’re on a roll girlfriend! You’ve got to give him your panties and then have him stuff them in your mouth!”
I make a face.
“Petra! Please!”
She merely rolls her eyes again.
“No one can hear, Olivia. Besides, let that freak flag fly! You’ve already been such a bad girl, might as well go for the full monte right? Hubba hubba!”
I merely shake my head and smile secretively. “We’ll see. Now, shhhh! We’re supposed to be working!”
My friend giggles, and I turn back to my computer. But my eyes don’t see any words because inside, I’m utterly consumed by Dr. Monroe.Randall definitely lives well, that’s for sure.
I guess being a doctor must pay, seeing how the grass in front of his apartment building is perfectly manicured and groomed, not to mention a vibrant shade of emerald green. The apartment building itself is exceptionally clean and looks brand new despite a few dirt marks near the entrance. The glass door is wiped of fingerprints, and beyond the locked door is a black and white tiled floor and a closed elevator.
I look for Randall’s name on the call box and hit the button beside it. The buzzing sound is almost drowned out by a passing car on the otherwise empty street, but I’m able to hear Randall’s voice telling me to come inside and go to the fourth floor.
My scarlet high heels tap on the black and white tiled floor, and I feel like I’m wearing magical ruby red slippers while on my way to Oz. Windows line either side of the foyer and a few lounge chairs are scattered across the room, looking plush and luxurious. A shimmering chandelier twinkles above me, the rays of light bouncing vibrantly.
Once I enter the elevator and press the right button, I wipe my sweaty palms on my fitted black dress. I stare at my reflection in the mirror when the doors close and the elevator moves upward.
My curls are tamed tonight, laying lushly about my shoulders. I put on some makeup to give me a natural look, just a bit of blush and eyeliner to make me feel pretty and confident and not over the top. The only thing that may appear unnatural are my lips, which are a deep shade of pink. I hope Dr. Monroe likes it.
My black dress is sleeveless and shows a decent amount of cleavage, coming to a ‘V’ in the center of my chest. It’s extremely flattering, hugging my curves and accentuating my hips and ass in all the right places. It’s a bit a revealing, but I know he’s going to love it.
Once the elevator dings, I step out and trip down the lavish hallway to his apartment. Then, I knock on the door, my heart hammering in my chest as I clutch the tiny purse I brought with me. I take a few deep breaths, trying to stay calm.
But then, the door swings open and the man standing before me is so gorgeous that my mouth goes dry.
“Hi,” I manage to stammer.
A black brow raises, and he smiles slyly, as if he can sense my nervousness.
“Hi yourself,” he says, stepping aside to let me in. “Welcome.”
I stand there like an idiot for a moment. A snug maroon crew neck sweater hugs his broad shoulders and the sleeves are rolled up to his elbows, revealing strong forearms. His dark tan khaki pants are slim fit, sitting low on his hips and hugging his legs. His dark brown slip-on shoes are pristine, shiny and without creases. But even better, a blue dish towel is thrown over his shoulder and, based on the enticing aroma tickling my nostrils, he’s been hard at work.
How did I get so lucky? A man who cooks, who’s also a healer? I’m in seventh heaven.
But I’m not alone in my hunger. Randall’s eyes roam over my body intently and I blush at the desire in his gaze as his eyes linger on my curves and my hips. I knew he would love this dress! I bite my lip and shiver beneath his gaze, allowing him to look. The moment his smoldering blue eyes connect with mine, my breathing relaxes a bit, and I release my lip from between my teeth, allowing myself to smile fully.
“You look absolutely gorgeous,” he growls. “I’m speechless, honey.”
