I take it from her, confused at first, and then slowly I feel a smile spread across my face.
“I knocked you up.”
She lets out a startled laugh. “Yeah, Ride, you did. You’re going to be a daddy.”
“Fuck,” I growl, unable to form other words as emotion swamps me. My gaze goes from the pregnancy test back to my woman. “We’re having a baby.”
“Yeah,” she says, smiling, clearly happy, her eyes glowing with it.
“I love you, Langley,” I tell her, shifting on the bike and leaning in to take her mouth.
“I love you too,” she says back, meeting my kiss.
When we break apart, I bend down so my forehead presses against hers, just drinking in the moment.
“Fuck, baby, I don’t think I know shit about being a dad.”
“You’ll be a terrific dad, Ride,” she says, her hand coming up to hold my face.
I smile, because I’m sure as hell going to give it my best.
If I look back on the past year, I never dreamed I’d be where I’m at now. It’s almost enough to make me want to go back and thank that fucker Einstein for giving me the answer to every fantasy I’ve ever had—right before I kill him again, of course.
I’ve always been a man who goes with the flow on this crazy trip of life. The past year has been a wild ride, that’s for sure, and with Langley in my life, I know it’s just going to get better and better. The End.
