A smile tugged at Andrei’s lips and he couldn’t stop himself from kissing Lucas, though he pulled away quickly. He was right in that Andrei was still figuring things out. He was apparently bisexual, but he wasn’t sure if he was ready to tell others about this discovery and he had no desire to explore this new side with anyone else other than Lucas. And then the other man looked as if he was balancing on a razor’s edge, trying to decide how much he was willing to let himself care for Andrei when being involved with a man ran against all his carefully laid plans for his life. But the fact that he was talking about it, that he wasn’t running for the door, meant that he was willing to try.

“It’s just sex until we say otherwise,” Andrei said, his lips lightly grazing Lucas’s as he spoke.

Lucas pulled back and stared at Andrei, questioning. At long last, his hand drifted up and his fingers threaded through Andrei’s hair. God, how he missed that touch. “Are you sure?”

Andrei let his eyes drift shut, soaking in the affection. How could such a simple touch nearly send him to his knees? “Just sex. No strings. No complications. No expectations.”

“One complication, actually,” he corrected, causing Andrei’s eyes to pop open. “No other men. I think I can tolerate you fucking a woman…maybe…well,” Lucas paused, frowning as he thought about the words now they were out of his mouth. “Well, maybe not. But definitely no other men. I find myself oddly possessive where you’re concerned.” Lucas’s hand tightened slightly in Andrei’s hair before he caught himself and relaxed his hold.

Andrei’s eyes sparkled with laughter but he swallowed it back. “Can I expect the same from you?”

Lucas nodded. “It’s only fair.”

Andrei snorted. “Monogamous, no strings sex. That’s got to be a first.”

“Shut up,” Lucas muttered before roughly kissing him to stop Andrei’s laugh. He pulled away just as he started to deepen the kiss and frowned. “We are going to be so bad at this.”

“Monumentally bad at this.” Andrei grinned broadly, feeling lighter than he had in weeks. “But I’d rather be bad at this with you than spend another minute trying to be without you.”

Lucas nodded jerkily, their lips brushing. “I can’t sleep without you. Can’t think. Can’t…breathe.” The confession sounded as if it had been ripped straight from Lucas’s soul, driving Andrei to capture his mouth in another rough kiss.

It didn’t last nearly as long as Andrei would have liked, but he was struggling to keep his feet. His damned body was still weak and shaky and Lucas could feel it.

“I should go,” Lucas whispered, breaking off the kiss.

“Can’t control yourself?”

“You’re still injured,” he evaded, not denying the obvious. Neither one of them had much control when it came to sex, but Lucas had a point. Andrei wasn’t up for much until he healed a bit more.

Lucas started for the door when Andrei stopped him.

“You got plans for tonight?”

“No.”

“Ian has loaded my fridge with enough food to feed an army. You wanna stay, eat some great food, and learn about my unholy love for ‘80s John Candy movies?”

Lucas lifted one skeptical eyebrow at Andrei. “You have Great Outdoors?”

“Of course I’ve got Great Outdoors,” he scoffed, dramatically rolling his eyes as if the very idea that he didn’t was sacrilege. “Why?”

A slow, lazy grin spread across Lucas’s lips as he leaned against the front door. “Because I’ve got an unholy love for ‘80s Dan Aykroyd movies.”

His heart quickened at that smile and everything in him just felt lighter. He loved that fucking smile. With his index finger, Andrei motioned between the two of them. “You know, we might be okay.”

Chuckling, Lucas returned to Andrei’s side, running his fingers through his long strands before kissing him. “Yeah, you might be right.”
