Shocked, he held on to the back of Quinn’s head and deepened the kiss. Quinn met him, stroke for stroke, the kiss going on and on. Every time they tangled together, Shane’s desire grew, deepening until it flooded his whole body.
Quinn must have been drowning in it too, because he groaned into his mouth as he clutched his arms with strong fingers, digging them into muscle. Shane found that strength in his grip and the softness of his lips a heady contrast that whirled every sane thought from his head. He slid his teeth along Quinn’s plump lower lip, then delved back inside. Quinn kissed him with an eager hunger that flipped his world upside down. Shane tilted his head to give Quinn better access, moaning when the man pressed the front of his body against Shane’s. His hands slid down Shane’s arms then around his waist. When Quinn rubbed against him like he couldn’t help himself, Shane pulled back with a gasp. He’d felt it—felt that Quinn was just as fucking hard as he was.
They stared at each other, both panting, and Shane shivered when Quinn’s warm breath flowed over his wet lips.
“Jesus! Get a room!”
Shane looked over Quinn’s shoulder at the guy standing there with his lip curled up in disgust. He narrowed his eyes. “Why don’t you just move along?”
“Why don’t you just not do that where people can see?”
“Do what? We were kissing. You’ve never seen two people kissing?”
“Not two dudes,” the guy snarled. “It’s sickening!”
Fury fast swept through him, swallowing the desire he’d been thoroughly basking in. Releasing Quinn, he balled his hands into fists and stepped around Quinn, ready to teach this guy a lesson about what was sickening and what wasn’t. But Quinn stopped him with a hand on his chest.
“It’s not worth it.”
He stared at Quinn’s face, taking in the pink cheeks and his lips, red and swollen from their kisses. Damn, he looked good when he was turned on. “Yeah, it’s not.” He glared at the man, watching in satisfaction as he stomped off before looking back at Quinn. “I hate people like that.”
“So do I, but what are you gonna do?” He shrugged, then one corner of his mouth went up. “We were getting close to doing a lot more than kissing.”
Shane tugged him back against his body, sliding his knee between Quinn’s slim legs. “Yeah, we were. How about we take this back to my place?” He kissed his jaw, then pulled back to look at him.
All the humor fled Quinn’s expression and he shook his head. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
Shane hadn’t either before. But what he felt while touching the man was worth a little more exploration. “Why not? We obviously mesh and what’s better than a little bit of late-afternoon fun?”
“I’ve never really found sex to be fun.” Blue eyes flared wide and his mouth fell open.
It was obvious he hadn’t meant to say that out loud, and Shane couldn’t stop the flare of excitement such a challenge would bring.
“Maybe you’ve been having sex with the wrong people, because I assure you, it’s more than fun.” Oh, but he would love to teach him a few things.
Quinn didn’t answer as he stepped back and pulled his shirt down, covering the erection Shane knew he still had. Shane frowned, realizing Quinn had been serious. He could also tell by his expression, he truly wasn’t ready to take this thing any further. Not yet anyway.
Biting back his disappointment, Shane gave him the friendliest smile he could muster. “Okay, I’ll let you go for now. But think about it. Just some fun. No commitment. We have some incredible heat between us, and sex is always better when it comes in hot.”Chapter SixA loud bang woke Quinn. He blinked against the bright overhead light and tried to roll over with the goal of pressing his face into the couch cushion but something hard was digging into his ribs. Groaning, he shifted and reached down to find that he’d fallen asleep on the gaming controller…again. Well, he was awake now.
He sat up, putting his sock-covered feet on the floor, and rubbed his eyes. The TV still showed the map screen for Assassin’s Creed II. The last thing he remembered was checking the map for the quest icon to the Borgia pope and then he was out. But that had been well after four in the morning.
Last night, he’d needed to think, but it had been thinking about his own personal life, so he turned to Assassin’s Creed. He had his own system when it came to gaming and thinking.
When he had a work-related problem, he played a Borderlands game.
When he had a personal problem, he played Assassin’s Creed.
When he was angry and frustrated, he played a Call of Duty game.
