Sometimes you gotta fake it, till you make it.
Ben Hoffman needs a fake date for his family’s annual Halloween party. Despite being the youngest National Medal of the Arts winner in US history, his hippie mom is always on his case about adding something meaningful to his life, LOVE. So rather than endure another year of her mournful eyes, he’s decided to rent a date using the Holidates App. Except the joke’s on him because Jess Darling is a smart-mouthed, curly-haired, banging-bodied, free-spirit who firmly believes art is the eye of the beholder and that has very little to do with training. Her perspectives go against everything he learned studying art history at Oxford.
Things go from bad to worse when Ben and Jess are forced to share his childhood bedroom. He shouldn’t find her bohemian style attractive, or her glass-is-always-full-optimism delightful, when his own glass definitely needs a refill. Still, there is something in Jess that not only calls to him, but calms him, settles him. When the weekend is over, Ben isn’t so sure he’s been faking anything with Jess. In fact, he’s pretty certain he can’t imagine ever being done with her.
