Margot has to be extra cautious with the cases she accepts. After being misled by her past two clients, Margot is left on the wrong side of some deadly gang members.

When a client asks her to check in on a friend, Lori, whom she suspects is being abused by her husband, Margot can't help but be pulled in. This new case is leaving Margot with a flood of memories and emotions.

As her investigation goes on, she learns that things are not quite as they seem. It gets even more confusing when Lori's husband says that she has been kidnapped and shows the ransom note.

Margot has an uphill battle on her hands, trying to get to the bottom of it all while dealing with mobsters who are closing in on her.
